Not worshiping with my church community on Sunday evening has been one of the harder things about recuperating at home the last two weeks. Dear friends have given me reports of various kinds to help me stay connected. Here's a bit of one from last night...
Darts are back, it feels like part of the family is home again.
Bob: "Boy it seems like there are alot of people here tonight."
Brian: "Yeah, it seems like there is a real buzz too."
Arianna spinning Sophie Dart and Trin, she stops and they smile and look cute and tipsy.
Sophia contemplates unity... Legos and fireworks... fireworks?.... "Oh, the Plymouth Music in the Park fireworks."
Very beautiful. Steve led round of Revelation 19. (3 parts: Alto, Soprano and Men, with two funny Steve led jokes about some male friend he has with an alto voice and the fact that Douglas definetly has a 'male' voice.)
Heather and Mike formulating the AW logo during intergenerational time.
Renee and Bethany holding hands throughout chapel.
Taka, the Huberty's Japanese student, saying 'Your church is very blessed.'
Preteens flirting with Isaac...again.
Tonya, to the new pastor during dinner (our pulpit fill while I am gone): 'It's alot louder in here than normal.'
We missed you. : )
Communion was sent home with my husband. So as the sun set, my companion and friend for the evening Amy and I sat on our back deck, broke bread and supped at the feast found in the lectionary text for the evening: John 17. It is so good when the text is alive and what seems so faraway is as near as an email sent and small piece of bread received. Life in Christ is good.
Praying for you and your family, dear lady. Thank you for sharing your journey. With much love, Doris
